Beeswax Wraps are the way to go – it’s time to banish cling film and other single use plastics from your kitchen.
There was a bundle of vintage cotton scraps lurking around – just waiting for their time. The prints are lovely, fine cotton lawn, not enough for a large project and the pieces too small to make anything much on their own. But perfect for making a whole stash of beeswax wraps. Following posting on Instagram, with a really positive response and some requests they have now made it onto the Website. Much prettier than most you’ll see.
So they all got a wash. And some beeswax pellets tracked down.
There was a lot of cutting with pinking shears into regular shapes.
The sizes varied, depending on the dimensions of each piece of fabric – aiming for the most useful sizes.
Then a few hours scattering beeswax pellets onto the fabric pieces and ironing on in between greaseproof paper.
And Voila! Beeswax Wraps!
Followed by a bit of testing – cheese wrapped up like gifts! The fridge never looked so inviting. This is how to wrap your food in style!
