Handmade Wool Socks – made on a vintage sock knitting machine dating from the 1920s. The machine is old and sometimes cantankerous, resulting in the odd imperfection – this doesn’t affect the wearability of the socks, if anything this just adds to the character. Colours available are listed left to right in first photo. Scroll through the gallery for a picture of the wondrous machine. Warm and cosy, robust and hard wearing.
Perfect with boots, brogues or just around the house. They have an authentic vintage appeal. Designed to be loose and scrunch down with contrasting colour rib top, heels and toes.
Fits size 4 – 7 (37 – 40)
The yarn is hand dyed using natural materials from the garden, hedgerows and larder. 75% superwash wool, 25% nylon for strength. Natural dyes have a soft and subtle quality unlike chemical dyes. The colour is fast but there may be some ‘bleeding’ in the first wash, this is nothing to worry about.
Hand wash or gentle machine wash at 30 degrees. Low tumble dry. Cool iron only.
